Until recently, transfers and offsets were seen as one way tickets for offloading risk, at a price.  Most business risk management depended on transfers and offsets.  Offsets and transfers turned out to be imperfect vehicles at best.  In this economic cycle, pricing often obscures underlying risk. 

Fairness.  It is a simple concept.  It has had a transformative effect across the globe. 

Risk has always been about people, the sharpness of their intuition, where they put their trust.  When that trust is damaged or fades beyond repair, knowledge itself seems suspect.
